Chebeague Island is a quaint island in Casco Bay, not too far from Portland, Maine. Growing up, we had family friends with a cottage on the island and we spent a few weeks exploring the island on our bicycles. I remember how stunningly beautiful the Chebeague Island Inn looked as we biked past it, and how it’s yellow paint popped against the deep blue of the late summer bay behind it.

My partner, Jack, and I spent a lovely birthday weekend at The Woodstock Inn in Vermont last year. The late fall drizzle added an extra layer of coziness and charm as we played chess in the library and billiards in the game room, sipped interesting cocktails at the bar, and perused the shelves at the local bookstore. Hoping to be back here in the spring or summer at some point, what a gorgeous place for a wedding!

While I love the off season on Nantucket, nothing can beat a stroll past the rows and rows of hydrangeas on a warm summer day. This suite is generic enough to be used at any Nantucket wedding venue or private estate, or can be paired with a custom watercolor of your specific venue. Add in a map for extra personalization!

Continuing on the Nantucket theme, we’re delighted to offer a suite with this stunning watercolor of the most desirable wedding venue on the island: The White Elephant. Known for its timeless class, this venue is sure to delight your guests for a long weekend of relaxation right on the water. Incorporate the watercolor onto your envelope liners, and pair with a simple, elevated invitation suite in letterpress.

One of the most sought-after venues in Maine, French’s Point is the place to host your event, especially to show your out-of-town guests what the Maine coast is all about! Start your wedding weekend off with a lobster bake rehearsal dinner set up on the path leading down to the gazebo, host an outdoor ceremony, and end with a beautiful tented reception overlooking the water. Our advice? This design deserves to be printed in letterpress.

The Essential Guide to Day-of Wedding Papers

Day-of wedding papers contribute to the seamless flow of your celebration. In this guide, we’ll explore the usefulness of the most common day-of wedding papers, from welcome signs to custom cocktail napkins. Let’s jump in!

Welcome Signs

Placed at the entrance of your venue, a welcome sign lets guests know they’re in the right place, which is especially helpful at large venues, venues with multiple entrances, and venues with multiple weddings on one day. They’re also an extra chance to set the immediate tone for the wedding weekend.

Pro tip: If you’re having a full wedding weekend with multiple events, consider omitting your wedding date from the sign, and either have no date, or give the wedding weekend date range so you can use the same sign for multiple events.

Seating Charts and Escort Cards

Whether you opt for a seating chart or escort cards, these items help streamline the process of guests finding their seats at the reception. Seating charts and escort cards have recently gotten much more creative than just a framed piece of paper or a tented card, with some examples including a champagne glass wall with name tags on each flute, wooden flower box structures, and mirrors written on with chalk markers.

Table Numbers

Table numbers can be printed on paper, painted on book pages, carved out of wood, cross stitched, glazed on tile, or made out of so many other materials. They help facilitate efficient navigation and contribute to the overall organization of a reception. Some couples opt to have numbers on each table, while others chose to name their tables by places they’ve visited, mountains they’ve hiked together, etc.

Place Cards

By assigning specific seats at your reception tables, you’ll ensure a smooth seating arrangement for guests. No need for them to feel anxious about grabbing a seat next to the people they hope to enjoy the evening with.

Pro Tip: my favorite 2-for-1 option is to print/calligraphy guest names on the top of each menu to also serve as a place card.

Menus

Creating a seamless connection between aesthetics and gastronomy, menus are helpful if your meal is being served “family style” where guests will need to know the ingredients of each dish. They also act to tie in the whole table setting beautifully.

Signature Cocktail Signs

If you have signature cocktails at your cocktail hour or reception, highlight your unique drinks with an illustrated sign at the bar. Signature cocktails are great for guiding guests to a more wallet friendly option if your celebration is open bar (as they usually rack up a cheaper tab than, say, premium hard alcohols), or are a great option to offer guests if doing a cash bar but complimentary signature drinks.

Custom Cocktail Napkins

Elevate your bar experience with custom cocktail napkins. Personalized details like these ensure a refined and cohesive look for your celebration. Our favorite way to style them include adding your wedding crest or watercolor pet portrait, especially if either of the signature drinks are named after your dog or cat!
