Summer atop Aspen Mountain

 June 13, 2026

I will never be over Teika + Sam’s heartfelt and whimsical celebration at the Little Nell in Aspen, Colorado. From the donkeys and ice cream truck at the welcome party to the solo morning-of hike Teika ventured on to get up to the venue location, to the Taylor Swift singalongs on the dance floor stage and the hot chocolate on the gondola ride back down, it was all 100% them.

I had the honor of being a teammate of Teika’s in college, and then we (by coincidence) got engaged on the same day, and by even bigger coincidence, all ended up in the British Virgin Islands only a few days later, and spontaneously linked up at a full moon party on the beach to celebrate.

For their invitation suite, we took inspiration from Maroon Bells, the aspen leaves, and the iconic red gondolas seen every fifth chair on the mountain. The escort cards (shaped as aspen leaves) were hung by tree branches in the reception entrance, the table numbers were all whimsically watercolored animals (all native to Colorado), and the cocktail menus and programs all sported the colorful mountain wildflowers that Teika is so fond of. Janie of j.lemons events was a total rock star!
